Oculoplastic Surgery
Why it changes lives for the better

Overview

Oculoplastic Surgery is a specialized subcategory of Ophthalmology that involves the functional and cosmetic reconstruction of the eye and the area around it. Functional Oculoplastic surgery refers to procedures that improve a patient's visual field, and involve the realignment or cropping of one's eyelids. This may be to correct the results of local trauma or age-related sagging. Cosmetic Oculoplastic surgery is generally not necessary for the improvement of one's visual field, but rather to improve a patient's facial appearance. In both scenarios, the patient's quality of life is drastically increased.
